Diary of an Edinburgher

Isobel took time out from her busy schedule (ward experience in her medical degree) to come and take Archie out. JR went off to her morning fitness class, and I sat in the sun and re-listened to last night's 'Book at Bedtime' (Kate Atkinson's new novel, 'Transcription'). I didn’t make it to the end of the 15 minute episode last night, but drifted off to the Land of Nod too soon. .

We’ve been mulling over the notion of new cabin bags for quite some time. We wanted ones with four wheels (I remember being absolutely delighted with two wheels!). JR has researched them extensively, and has also visited them in shops and examined them. So today I went into town with her to give the final seal of approval, which took all of five minutes. I then trundled home with two bags. Holidays coming up...

I nearly had to pay for the bus! I accidentally picked up my old bus pass, which, because it had been declared ‘lost’ is now ‘blacklisted', which is rather over-dramatic - ‘Not Valid’ would have done! But two nice drivers let me on anyway.

This shot is taken in the shop. They really should clean their windows with a view like that!

Check out the new John Lewis ad! It's terrific!
