Run out of superlatives

The final day's walking, and what a day (and impossible to choose a pic, even with extras to use!).
We had an extra guide today and we started up through the woods and out into open, wild country and across back into Albania and the Jezerca glacial lakes. Surrounding them are steep rocky mountains, with multitudes of flowers on the grassy bits and wild garlic down by the shore. I was attacked by blue butterflies, 2 of which hitched a lift for a couple of 100 m.
The group split into 2, one lot went with the local guide for an unsuccessful attempt (not enough time) on Albania's 2nd highest peak and a rough and exposed walk round the mountains to the end point. Mr Rat chose this option and I was glad I hadn't as our option was tough enough.
We went to the head of the valley, contoure d round and then climbed very steeply for a long and winding traverse over rough ground with fews paths, fortunately most of it wasn't too exposed. At one point we headed down (E3) only to climb again - I could have cried but instead had to continue up. I was glad of the flowers as distractions (E2 - ?yellow betony being one of the new ones) and a rest stop to re-fuel.
There were bits that reminded me of other places - Dolomites (E1) and Picos - but E4 reminde me of pics of China with the trees clinging on in ridiculous places.
We did finally make the pass and the long descent to the valley where a minibus met us for the final bit along the road. On the way down was a shepherd's hut serving drinks and we were glad they were full of sugar, it was just what was needed for the energy to get down.
It was getting dark when we finished, the others were a bit behind and it was dark.
Exhausting but brilliant
