Moth resting on the watering can
In a morning break I thought I would use the time while my coffee was percolating to water a few pot plants which I'd noticed looked thirsty. As I bent down to pick up the watering can I saw on the handle that this moth had come to have a rest.
I went to grab my camera and gingerly found a spot on the back steps where I could move in close to the moth for this shot. Unfortunately it meant filming with back lighting from the sun. I've no idea what type of moth this is, and it disappeared soon after, but it is a good record of the range of life in our rear garden which backs onto the Horns valley where there is a mix of woodland, a stream and steep pastures.
