Nearly ripe enough to eat

I ventures further down the garden than I have managed recently. The terrain is very rough in places especially because I haven't mown the grass for such a long time with my poor mobility.

I was taken aback by the number of plums which were hanging on the branches of this tree, which has always been very looked after with little care and attention. It tends to get pruned ruthlessly with little knowledge about the best method to use.

Thsi year it seems to have a bumper crop, which |I have spotted elsewhere on plum trees. I was surprised that the fruit hadn't been eaten by deer as has happened in the past.
