Out on a Limb

I haven't got a good hawk for a l-o-n-g time. So, I was excited when I saw this one out on the limb of a dead tree.

Since I was doing 50 m.ph. on a busy road, I carefully slowed down, pulled into a driveway, and hurried back. I pulled well past the perch, and quietly opened my van door.

He/she let me get off 36 shots...two of which I liked. Finally, it tired of my timfoolery, and flew off to a telephone pole.

The second shot is in the Extras...the takeoff from the tree. A little better light would have been nice, but I still liked seeing the raptor.
