Diary of an Edinburgher

More birthday celebrations

A good drying day was anticipated, so I washed both sofa covers and had them out quite early while JR went to her fitness session.

Morning coffee/breakfast out in the sun, then we headed off into town to claim JR's free birthday month Prosecco that a certain pizza chain offers. Having realised last time we were there that dogs are allowed in the outdoor seating area, Archie came with us. The sunny seating area looks out on the Water of Leith, so it's perfect. JR went down on to the path to take a photo of Archie looking over the wall. (My pizza not only looks twice the size of JR's because it's nearer the camera - it IS.)

After lunch, as it was a sunny day (and I’d missed out last week) I popped in to get an ice cream before catching my bus home. We were standing at the bus stop while I was guzzling a double cone before the bus came, who should we meet again but the two folk from the other night at the show, when they were behind us in the queue and we were guzzling ice creams! You don’t see people for years, and then bump into them twice. With ice creams.

While JR stayed for a browse around the shops, Archie and I came home, with a romp over the Meadows and a pop in to see Rufus and his mum, who are in the midst of clearing out the kitchen in preparation for major renovations. I quite like the fridge in the lounge - very handy.

Orangutan School on TV tonight!
