Bloomen-dal-ightful

Today, with the promise of a shower free day, we headed off on the bikes towards Haarlem. We stopped at a little cafe en route, full of cyclists, which was no surprise given it's charming location and strong espressos. We feasted and then set out for Haarlem and then Bloomendale aan zee. Delightful.

The cycle lanes in the Netherlands are incredible. Even the roundabouts are set out to give cyclists the priority. Cycling is a breeze here and at no point do you feel like you are being hassled by angry motorists which is fairly standard in the UK.

We rode a longer route home, through the sand dune filled National Park.

A brilliant day on the bikes although my body is feeling the effects of riding over 40 miles on a bike designed for city cycling. I feel like some areas of my body may never recover.

Lebanese this evening, fried carbs aplenty.
