Today's the day ………………………… for a model world

It's that time of year again when all the model railway enthusiasts head off to Carnforth Station for two days of absolute bliss.

You can buy (or sell) practically anything and everything to do with model railway layouts, rolling stock, locomotives and the model worlds that they exist in.  To get an idea of scale here, there's a little girl in a red dress standing on the right.

They are, of course, irresistible to everyone who comes and I like it that there's a notice on this one which says 'Children - please don't let your adults touch the models.....'.  The attention to detail is quite incredible.  I've included a close-up of a small part of the layout where people are queuing up for a hot air balloon ride and children are playing in a playground.  Some poor person has collapsed and there's a bit of CPR resuscitation in progress next to an amblulance.  Oh - and there's a fight centre between two daleks?!

Just the sort of thing you'd expect in a model world ……………………...
