Ice

Came across this bizzare frost pattern on my lunchtime walk. The pattern in the frozen water mirrored the stone reservoir wall under the water. Why? Must be some scientific explanation.

PS I've been missing for a while due to family crisis. Father in law in hospital with pnuemonia and dehydration, my mother with broken wrist have taken all my attention. Blip unfortunately relegated to low priority.
