Exercise Time

My walk by the lakes at Testwood gave me chance to top up my record of steps taken so far this week, and better than that keep my average walking distance each day within my own satisfaction.

The route around the man-made lakes at Testwood which serve as a major water resource for Southern Water acting as an important reservoir, is a favourite of mine. The lakes themselves are out of bounds for watersport activity, although New Forest Sea Scouts use the main lake as a training area.

Sadly part of the total lakes complex were showing signs of the prolonged period without significant rain, but the main lakes held their customary plentiful tranquillity and beauty, even though much of the grassland in the wildlife reserve is well parched.

But my main purpose today was walking the perimeter of the main lake at just over a mile, making my total exercise for the day at 3.7 miles
