Windmill at Marton, Blackpool

This windmill sits on a green, close to a busy main road, at the edge of a housing estate. It is also very close to a garage, several large shops, and a well-known superstore.  It is boarded up and you can’t go inside. I don’t know who looks after this mill. Perhaps, it’s supposed to be maintained by the local council – not sure.  It’s one of several windmills in our area, and although it is not the prettiest, it does at least still have its sails.

This morning a roofer came to check the guttering and replace the drainpipe at the side of my house. The original metal pipe was dislodged by the wind a couple of days ago and until it was tackled to the ground, it was swinging very precariously in the wind. I am so glad he came to sort this as I am due to go on holiday at the end of the week.
