Railway buff
From a miniature railway of a couple of days ago to the real thing today. Yet somehow the miniature railway and its narrow gauge track skirting a lakeside in a country park holds as much, if not more intrigue for the rail buff.
Years ago when I travelled daily on a branch line railway to the nearest big town, ten miles away, I had that same feeling when steam driven trains finally gave way to diesel propulsion, yet alone the electrified main line route if ever I travelled further afield, to London say..
Call it nostalgia for an age gone by, if you like, but who can deny the magic of a train with a huge locomotive at the front? Even when it is all in miniature.
