Country Life

Couldn’t resist a walk by the water with camera poised while I was at Lakeside Country Park at Eastleigh. It’s a rural retreat little more than a stone’s throw from Southampton Airport and Southampton Parkway rail station.

Yet surprisingly with so much activity nearby and a major motorway junction just round the corner its lakes, meadow and woodland is home to a wide range of wildlife.

And of course, there is the miniature narrow gauge railway which operates every day through the summer school holidays.

I am sure it is not solely meant for school age children though.

But call me a big kid if you like!
