Super yachts

Well, they suggested that the marina at Southampton’s Ocean Village would see bigger craft following extensive redevelopment of the marina and its pontoons this year!

I guess they don’t come a great deal bigger than this. This super cruiser is moored in a commanding position at the entrance to the marina, so you cannot miss it.

But then marina operator, MDL makes bold claims for Ocean Village In the shelter of Southampton Water, and right in the heart of the city itself, saying it is much more than simply a marina with shops, restaurants, a cinema and bars.

The basin, formerly used for commercial shipping, is deep enough to provide mooring facilities for tall ships and large yachts. It has also become famous in the past for hosting the start or finish of round-the-world yacht races.

More recently, the marina ihas become home to a £50 million spa hotel complex, the tallest residential building in the city, and new restaurants and bars.
