Tokyo Tower Calling

We've been seeing a view of the iconic Tokyo Tower every day since we've been here but from a distance. It used to be the highest structure Japan until they build the Tokyo Skytree. We finally got up and close to it tonight on our way back to the hotel... I couldn't leave without seeing it.
Our day started heading for the Imperial Palace where the gardens are usually open, but they were shut today. Instead we walked around it, moat and all... 2 photos in the extra. On our way around we stopped at the Gallery of Modern Art and my favourite is in the extra (they allow you to photograph them) and saw a couple of butterflies, one of which is in the extra. 

The rest of the day was spent shopping, only a few hours actually, then back to the hotel for a 10 minute swim before heading out cross town for our final dinner. We were up on the 52nd floor with lovely views over the city, a jazz band playing (in extra) and we all really enjoyed the food!

I'll reflect on our trip tomorrow when I have more time, although no idea where I will blip from and of what.
