The Sub

We were up a bit early today to head through to Loch Lomond where Subaru were demoing their first 2 new models of hybrid/petrol cars. As Mrs C and I both have a dirty diesel ('we'd never get up our track without a 4wd year round), we were interested in where things were going - it all seems such a mess at the moment! 

So after a buffet lunch we both got to drive one and we were impressed - the petrol engine was stopping and starting and switching to battery without us being aware, except for the middle top dashboard interactive display which showed how the engine was being powered. We liked it! On return we got some freebies and had a wee chat with our local salesman, then made our excuses. We still seem some way off having fully electric long range cars and a charging network big enough... are hybrids the answer for now? Yeah... a bit of a mess.... we need the future now.
