Life In Wales

Sisters

This morning I took Rach and the girls to the gym to use the outdoor pool as I had three guest passes for them.  We got there about 10.30am and nearly all the sun loungers were taken but we managed to find 4 together by the side of the pool.   I swam a quick 30 lengths while Rach covered the girls in sun cream and then they all came in to join me.  Despite the 32 degrees heat, the girls complained that the water was cold - it was actually really nice, but I suppose little ones feel it more, and they wanted to go in the indoor pool.  It felt really warm in there, both the air temperature and the water, and they seemed much happier - should have saved it for a rainy day lol!

Anyway, we went back outside to lie on the sun loungers and it wasn't long before Violet said she wanted to go back in the water and was happy to come in the outdoor pool.  We did plan to have lunch there, but by the time we'd all got ready and went to the cafe, they said there was a 40 minute wait so we decided to head home for lunch.

We then went to Asda to buy some cupcakes to donate to Chris & Tony's open garden this weekend, they do it annually to raise money for charity and this weekend it's for Macmillan Cancer Care.  I'd arrange to pop round and drop the cakes off, but as we were leaving I got a text from Chris to say that they were popping out for an hour but said they were going to a cafe in Hove and suggested we meet them there, which we did.  Rach has never met them before, so it was nice for her as she's heard a lot about them, and obviously seen Chris on TV.  The girls were well behaved too, and Tony's mum who lives with them, was with them, so we had a nice hour, sat outside in the shade - the only problem was that they seemed to prefer Scarlett's Unicorn cupcakes to the Thorntons' ones that I bought to donate lol!     Anyway, I've boxed three of the unicorn ones up to take for them on Sunday ;-)

On the way home we decided to stop at the beach and got the girls some chips and chicken pieces to eat on the beach.  It was so warm, and the sea was so still, it was a shame we hadn't bought their swimming costumes, but they had fun throwing pebbles into the sea and than sat together collecting pebbles.  Simple pleasures are the best aren't they?

Home to get ready for bed and the adults had dinner outside and we spent the whole night in the garden until about 11pm.  Violet did get up at one point and Rach brought her down  and she stayed with us until Rach went to bed.

I'm probably going to get a little behind  on commenting  again over the next few days, but will catch up when I can.  Rain is forecast later on tomorrow and then the temperature is set to drop apparently which might be quite pleasant!
