Putting my feet up at the back

A gentler day to follow yesterday’s exertions. First was a quick walk up to Hill Top to see Beatrix Potter’s garden. We’ve been in the house a couple of times in the winter when the garden was not at its best.

On to Bankground Farm for coffee and scone and to hire a canoe to bob around on Coniston for a few hours. Clear skies, breeze from the south up the lake, nothing could be better.

Rounded off the day with another short walk along the lakeshore. A night off from cooking as we called in at the Cuckoo Brow in for dinner.

The end of a fine week, further north we go tomorrow on to Edinburgh.
