Potager
I love the idea of an ornamental kitchen garden. This year is the closest I have come to it yet! Watching Geoff Hamilton on the TV in the 1980s and reading all his books avidly was probably the start of it. I hung on his every word!
After a slow, very wet start, the weather this year has been great for the garden, other than having to water it occasionally. We are having a very hot summer for us, but it has never got over 22 deg C!
The runner and broad beans, the peas, lettuce, spinach and strawberries are all doing really well, the onions and garlic aren't so good. The poppies are having a whale of a time and seem to be taking over, lots of different types springing up all over!
Mike spent the day sailing and anchored off the island of Hunda, with his book and his cocoa, for the night! A happy chappy. Extra of him setting off, laden down with enough supplies to feed a navy . . . !
