The Big Butterfly Count.
In July and August, the UK charity Butterfly Conservation is doing a nationwide butterfly survey. My blip shows a chart to help identify the various kinds of butterfly.
Apparently there are 58 different species native to the UK. Some are in decline. All are very beautiful and enhance a garden.
The caterpillars are a valuable part of the food chain for birds and other creatures.
The count is a way to assess the health of the environment as butterflies react very quickly to change.
I am going to list some flowers and plants that are attractive to butterflies.
I hope you find this interesting.
