Double edged poignancy

Thousands of War Memorials up and down this country and across the world will become the focus of attention this Sunday as we reflect on the ultimate price paid by so many.

This is our village War memorial, where a short, simple, dignified service will take place.

I also received the sad news this evening of the death of a local runner and the man who was the Principal of the college when I started there 11 years ago.

On a much brighter note, I got recognised today by two complete strangers. They said I was "Torch Man" We had a lovely chat for a few minutes, but being known as Torch man was quite bizarre
