Diary of an Edinburgher

DCP revisited

We set up the bird station in the new garden, near the hedge. This will be good for the wee birds, and the big pigeons won’t be able to reach it. I think the wee birds need water, and no sooner had I stuck it up, than a sparrow came for a drink.

Rufus and his mum joined us for a jaunt to Dalkeith Country Park, as they've never been there. It was really busy, it being a sunny day in the school holidays, but there's plenty of room for everyone. And all the kids are over in the adventure playground. We had a short slow walk (it's not just Rufus who is slow...) but Archie ran around and dipped in the river lots of times.

Then we had lunch in the sun. No, in the shade. And a very nice lunch it was too. I managed two ice creams, one while the dogs and I waited for the others to browse the shops, then we all had another one before wandering home. A lovely day out.

And Archie wasn’t sick!
