Diary of an Edinburgher

Visitors!

Archie has taken to standing over by the neighbour's door. It may be something to do with the fact that we gave them a packet of treats to use to stop him barking at them when they opened the door - and they're very generous with them. In fact, last night he was scratching at their door, wanting IN. Today I couldn’t find him - we had both been hanging washing out and our back door was open. He was nowhere to be seen. The neighbour's door was open slightly ajar... I went over, calling him. I peeped in, calling him. I tiptoed into their kitchen, calling him. And there he was, standing there, looking guilty. The cat food dish was empty. No neighbours to be seen. Naughty boy. So I put up the baby gate we used to have at our back door, so that he can’t go in.

Anne and her parents came over for a barbecue. They came and stayed in the house and looked after Archie last year. They've just been on a big trip around Europe. It was great to catch up with them.

We had a lovely evening for a BBQ - growing quite used to having sunny weather every day now...

I recorded the England game. I'm about to watch it now - just as well I added an extra bit, it seems... DON'T TELL ME!
