Olive Edis

The Olive Edis exhibition which has been doing the rounds in Norfolk has now arrived at the museum in Sheringham.  Olive Edis was a pioneering businesswomen in the early 20th Century who set up her own photographic studio in the town and became a respected photographer in her day, often travelling to London to photograph the rich and famous, including King Edward VI, Thomas Hardy and Emmeline Pankhurst, amongst others.
M hadn't seen her work and as we were in Sheringham for a Tesco shop we popped in to have a look.  Guess who couldn't resist dressing up in an 'Olive Edis' outfit and spectacles and posing in the mock studio set up in the gallery?!  Not the sharpest of photos due to the heavy use of the 'soft focus' feature...well, as it's me I can indulge softening the wrinkles a bit!
Olive was truly an inspirational women who pushed boundaries in so many ways.
