Fun in the Sun
Our day started with a brisk walk to school as Scarlett wanted to go on her bike, and Violet went on her push-along trike, it was already feeling rather hot, so by the time we got back to Rachel's we were feeling quite warm!
We were originally going to be looking after Maple, one of Violet's little friends' from nursery as her mum and dad moved house yesterday, but Granny and Grandad came to help out, so we had the day to ourselves. As it turns out, it was a blessing in this heat and Rach managed to get a guest pass for me to go to David Lloyd, so we went to the outdoor pool and spent the morning there. We had lunch there sat outside, nipped to the supermarket and then it was time to pick Scarlett up.
The rest of the day has been spent in the garden and the girls have been playing in the paddling pool as the temperature peaked at 31 degrees again. As you can see by this photo of Scarlett, they had a lot of fun!
It's now 8pm and bedtime - fingers crossed Violet goes to sleep tonight as Nanny's far too tired to be jumping on the trampoline again! Rach has prepared a Katsu chicken curry for tonight, so I'll help her to cook it once the girls are in bed, but now I'll go and pour a glass of wine and give Alan a quick call.
Enjoy the start to your weekend!
