One alone

My dad was always singing things. Wee bits of songs or just the line that said what he wanted to say in the conversation.

A frequent outburst was "one alone......" if something was just, well, on its own.

I remember being at a rehearsal for a group I sang in and singing the line "just one look and then I knew......" I had to phone my sister and ask "did you know this was an actual song?"
