Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Today's harvest!

Had a lovely time this afternoon at a friend's 80th birthday party, enjoyed the company and the celebrations.
Prosecco always goes down well although admittedly it doesn't usually get the chance in the afternoon! I must admit that I smiled as I came out of the hotel and straight onto a bus making good use of my bus -pass. This retirement has its benefits!
The theme this afternoon, was the Warning poem by Jenny Joseph, the one that begins... "When I am an old woman, I shall wear purple. With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me." So red hats were the order of the day! I think Edinburgh's charity shops had taken quite a hit!
When I came home I made strawberry jam, I'd been unable to resist yesterday in Tesco when they had punnets of beautiful strawberries reduced so that 2kg only cost me £4. I'd intended making it last night, but the elderflower cordial took precedence. I finished bottling that up this morning, so, all in all, a productive day.
