Appleby Horse Fair
Friday 8th June 2018
Our last day and a change of environment as we visited Appleby Horse Fair. It was like entering a different world and quite an education! No tripods, no extra gear, unusual for an LPH workshop. I was quite out of my comfort zone for a while.
We started down by the river and stayed there quite a while. Then, after a swift half in the pub, we made out way back through the streets, watching the various characters. I'm not a very good street photographer as I find it hard to photograph people. After a quick picnic lunch we went to watch them practising trotting along the road, using different photography skills as some of them were particularly fast. We finished with a quick walk around the fair.
With the camera on burst I took 2,872 photos! I was surprised to find that others took under or around 1,000. I certainly had a lot of shots to choose from and it will take me a while to really go through them. I was pleased with quite a few and I learnt more about my camera today, quite by accident. Perhaps I do need to read the manual after all.
Another evening of reviewing everyone's photos. Sadly our last evening together.
I've included a few extras.
