Beech beauty

Autumn must be the best time for the beeches on the North Downs in Surrey. The sun filters through the many coloured leaves onto the carpet of russet below.
And yet, what about springtime, when the palest new green leaves appear, or later when there's a carpet of bluebells? Even the shape of the winter beech is beautiful.
Let's face it, I just love beech trees, whatever the season!
