Nice day out at the Thirlestane Classic Car Show today. I'd hoped to have been showing Keats, but missed the deadline. Still, I couldn't not take him down could I? Had fun catching a Lotus Excel on the way back.

The weather never really lifted from drizzly greyness all day; but there was a fun passenger spin (with a donation to charity) in a '57 Chevy Bel Air (with a 5.7 litre '68 Camaro engine in it). It was like a barge, but glorious comfortable, and that engine gave it a surprising pull. The superb expanse of the dash is in the extra.

Met up with a nice couple with a big old Volvo, who Mel and I had met on the North Berwick run a few weeks ago, just after they'd won best in class, which they were rather chuffed about. And George (who had come with me) seemed to enjoy his day. So all good.

Well, save for a bit of overheating. It really is time I put that new radiator in...

Oh, main shot is of a Healey Elliot, and happens to be the very one that competed in the 1948 Mille Miglia, coming 13th overall, and 1st in the Touring Car category (becoming the first British car to win that category). T'other extra is the car in all its glory.
