Hogweed Umbrel

Was awake just after 4 a.m. - there appeared to be some sort of bird fighting going on in the garden and it was very noisy. Didn't really sleep much after that!

There is plenty of cow parsley in the lanes and verges - and now the common hogweed is putting in an appearance. Much more robust umbrella like structures than the cow parsley, they are really striking.

Grandad duties called today and I spent the afternoon with Jessica, having collected her from school at lunchtime. She certainly kept me busy and I am looking forward to a beer or two later.
