Otters!
The rain stopped late morning and so we set off to explore the south of the island. We had a couple of shortish walks including visiting a 2000 year old burial cairn.
As we drove along I spotted an otter on a rock. It began to call with a very piercing voice and then another otter joined it. It must have been the mother. They went into the sea and were splashing around together then climbed onto a rock before settling down to sleep cuddled up together. It was delightful to watch them!
We also saw a couple of seals fighting in the water. We imagined that they were young males playing fighting.
It was a great day!
