The Twelve Apostles
This row of cottages at Glen Catacol are called The Twelve Apostles. They were built to house families displaced by The Clearances but the crofters wouldn’t use them and they remained empty for two years before being rented out.
Today we had sunshine and we were able to see the beautiful scenery that had been hidden by mist. We went to Lochranza where we had a lovely walk in dramatic surroundings. We saw lots of wheatear and a peregrine.
On the shoreline we also saw seals in the water and hauled out on the rocks and divers including the Great Northern Diver.
