Greedy starlings

W bought a flutter butter pod, which is supposed to be very popular with small birds.  But at the moment, they're not getting a look in, as the local starlings have discovered how to get into it, and are feeding their youngsters.  When I took this photo, I had only noticed the baby on the top of the trellis, but on closer inspection on the computer, realised that there were in fact 3 youngsters - no wonder they were making so much noise.

We put up a fresh pod yesterday, I suspect it will be mostly gone by this evening.  It's a rather expensive way of getting a cute photo.
