Evidence of dragonfly activity
Up to today, we'd not seen a great deal of dragonfly activity around the pond this year - just an occasional damselfly. But this morning I spotted this exuvia - evidence of at least one hatched larva.
And this afternoon, in the hot sun, there were red and blue damselflies, mostly in pairs making babies (and laying the eggs in the pond). Also I spotted a couple of dragonflies, but they sped by too quickly for identification.
We've had another good day in the garden. I pulled up another 4 large trugs of weeds. And W spent some time washing and sorting innumerable plant pots - we're terrible hoarders, finding it difficult to part with anything like that - "it might come in useful" - but they do take up a lot of room.
Another trip to the garden centre planned for tomorrow - mainly for water and oxygenator plants for the goldfish pool.
