No Fishing Logs in a Sea of Fog

We pulled into the parking lot for the Holland Harbor Light (also known as Big Red), and it was nowhere to be seen. I had to leave the van, and get REAL close to it before it came into view. Even then, in the mist...my camera did not want to focus.

We ventured to Holland to see some tulips, to see the big water (Lake Michigan), and to celebrate 45 years of being married.

Come to find out...Mother Nature didn't care how long we've been married for. She just wouldn't cooperate with any good weather. Instead, she sent clouds and rain. After seeing the lighthouse, and having lunch with our friends Marty and Toni...we headed for home.

On the way back, we did see a covered bridge that we have never been to, and I put that picture into the Extras. (A red truck was just pulling into the bridge, and 3 fishing poles were awaiting bites on the bank.) Very quaint.

At this time 45 years ago, we were in a Holiday Inn in Bowling Green, Ohio...spending our first night as a married couple. We were on our way to Disneyworld and Ft. Lauderdale beach for our honeymoon. At Disneyworld, either Chip or Dale ( a young man in a giant chipmunk costume) tried to look down Lisa's top (and tried to hit on her)...but that's a story for another day.

45 years. Best decision I've ever made. It changed my life...when I asked her to be my wife. She is special.
