Raiding the library
The "library" is almost like a forbidden area for Charley. Not exactly forbidden; but because it is toy storage as well it's not usually open. So when Ben wanted stories this evening Charley spotted his opportunity and went to investigate! This boy can spot food or open gates / doors / cupboards from half a mile away....
Steve got a lie-in this morning after my pumpkin carving and blipping etc took us well into the early hours. Bless him he sits with me while I type in the evenings, with Charley asleep on his shoulder. I love him. Then instead of coming downstairs to join in family life he went straight into his office and got on with work, and managed a whole morning doing his own stuff! I like this. It's productive for him, and it means the boys and I just get on with our mornings as we used to do. We're definitely finding our rhythm. I even got some pumpkin carving done, and cut out and baked a test batch of Christmas decorations! Not bad. I didn't get dressed until it was time to get Ben to school though.... there's only so much you can get done in a morning....
This afternoon Ben went to school and Steve and I walked into town for some errands. Charley fell asleep in the wrap even before Steve had finished tying it, and slept until we were on our way home again - a 2.5hr nap in the afternoon, that's all he's had today!
And this evening the boys went to sleep on the sofa again. I kinda like it. It means at the moment that they are actually going to sleep easily rather than the lunacy that seemed to ensue trying to get them to sleep upstairs. And I get to watch my babies while they are at their most peaceful :)
I don't think my friend is going to be getting these lino cutters any time soon but she's said that's ok, she's working on something else at the moment! I'm looking forward to having a play with the bits of lino I've got waiting now that the pumpkins are pretty much done. Must get some shots of the finished orange pumpkin tomorrow - that's a daylight one, the cuts aren't deep enough for candlelight.
