What a welcome home - the grass might be as high as an elephant’s eye, but otherwise our garden has not suffered from our neglect during the 6 week adventure.

And the day is just beautiful so all the washing is dry.

Northumbria Health Care Trust did not manage to take on board the fact that Mr C had informed everyone likely to need to know, that he’d not be back till now, so would not be around for getting his pacemaker fitted. Consequently the answerphone was full of messages for him to confirm he’d attend for his op 2 weeks ago. Despite him not being here to respond, they then sent a message to apologise for the fact that the surgeon was on emergency so would have to cancel his op the next day. This call was followed by one from a remote voice telling him all would go ahead as planned when patently it wouldn’t,

The last message was saying he had to go in on Monday for the op. He rang to say he’d attend and they asked him in for a pre-assessment this afternoon! So that’s what he’s doing now.

I see I have 12 days left to backblip the travels. For anyone still interested, I’ll try to do this when possible.
