Joy in the garden

The grass may be growing rapidly in our garden since being fed little more than a week ago with an all-over fertilizer, but it’s this fresh splash of colour which grabs my attention today. We have had this azalea growing in a planter for some little while. . . and each year it produces this brilliant array of blossom.

What sets it off is the backdrop of variegated ivy as a climber on the fence.

Trouble is, a joy like this encourages me to forget about that rapidly growing grass, not to mention countless weeds which need tackling.
