"Hey, Firemen"

Today  was the parade for the 86th annual Strawberry Festival.  The festival is the oldest continuing agricultural festival in North Carolina.  The photo above is an older woman waving the the approaching fire truck from one of the area communities.  The extra photo is  a 1953 Allis-Chalmers tractor driven by the farmer who owns it.  The convertible behind the firetruck carries two visiting "Queens" from another NC small town.  The parade is the epitome of small-town America.  It was fun, and a time to visit friends from our having lived in the area from 1974 to 1988.
