Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

Taking the Long Way Home

Tomorrow we head for home -- this has been one fabulous vacation.

Because I went to bed sick last night, and Mr. Fun had not felt well all day yesterday, we woke this morning without much energy. We didn't get many options for photos today.

Late in the afternoon, all three of us--me, Mr. Fun, and my sis and our dog, Bob, and her dog, Razzie, all took a walk south through the neighborhood toward Pleasure Point and past the little market, so I captured a few photos.

This is our last full day here at the beach house. We arrived last Sunday afternoon and will leave tomorrow morning. My sis will head home to Portland, Oregon, and her K9 Kamp and we'll head for home in Southern California. I report back to the campus Monday morning to be the instructor on duty in the lab during the last two weeks of Winter Session. Then February 17 the spring semester begins.

We had a terrific week here at this beach house (in spite of each one of us having a touch of the flu). We've had beautiful sunsets, watched lots of people on the beach, watched lots of surfers, sail boaters, kayakers, sea lions and otters, and birds. We've taken several drives--one afternoon we went all the way north to Pigeon Point Lighthouse. This has been enjoyable and relaxing. One of the things that always pleases me as a vacation ends is that I love going home.

So tomorrow we'll make the drive from the Monterey Bay back to the Inland Empire in Southern California. I'll be capturing photos all along the way, so hopefully I'll have something tomorrow evening that will capture our roadtrip.

Good night from the Pacific's edge in Santa Cruz (can you hear the waves crashing on the sand?).

Here's my backblip for yesterday.
