A bit of a...

...dreich day so headed to soft play where we met up with Conor’s Irish cousins and the other members of the Gallagher clan. A nice wee catch up with everyone and a good run about for the boys. Quite some time since I’d been in a soft play establishment...it was noisy!

We then headed for a spot of lunch here, the Broadway cafe which we were reliably informed has not changed in 40 years. Conor’s Nana was reminiscing about coming in for a hot orange and to put the duke box on in days gone :-)

Headed home for a bit but needed some shopping so decided to head to Downpatrick and Asda as that might give a wee lad the opportunity for a power nap. It did and just to give him a wee bit longer we drove on to Killyleagh and then back again to Downpatrick.

Nipped into Sports Direct too to see if I could get big boys trousers...I can’t keep them in trousers just now...they last a few weeks and they are half mast!

Grocery shopping with a toddler has been a while too...lol! He picked up a wee packet of toffee crisp biscuits and I was determined they were not going through the checkout...but they were, “His favourite biscuits.” So I thought he must get them from time to time and armed with that belief...my resolve weakened they were put through the checkout and shared out in the car for the journey home.

So I asked him as he was munching away...who buys your favourite biscuits...looking for some confirmation that he was indeed allowed one...”You do Aunty Lala’”. Mmmm not the reassurance I was looking for and looks like I might be done in...lol :-)

The dog had not been walked and it was a tad brighter and dry so we took a very blustery walk along Newcastle Promenade before heading home for tea and a wee movie night.

Grateful for a day of smiles and tired boys this evening.
