Day 4
Expedition to Soller today. We met up 'early' and drove to Soller via Palma. We took the Dons with us and all rendezvous'd in the square in front of the church.
Soller is such a nice place - one of my favourite spots (although I have so many). There is such a buzz about it today and I love it's 'French' feeling. There is a great ice-cream shop right next to where I took this photo which is always worth a visit.
We got on the wee train to Banyola which rattled and cranked its way through the mountains giving spectacular views. It dates from the 1920's and you half expect Poirot to come mincing through the carriages or Miss Marple to cast her shrewd eye on you.
Spent an hour in Banyola - a lovely wee village. I climbed up through the tiny streets and took some lovely shots down to the village - thirsty work on such a warm day. Back to the square where I had the best beer I have ever tasted; glass in the freezer and ice cold.
'Try that!' I say to Goretex.
'Hmm nice' says she.
The way she sucked that down would get James Dyson thinking of a new model!
'Thanks' I said 'for leaving me some'
Back on the train to Soller and picked up the cars for the quick hop to Puerto do Soller - another lovely spot. Sat on the beach or in a cafe or wandered along the front. The sun was setting so we climbed up to the maritime museum where you get a great view along the cliffs.
As the sun sets we all gathered in a waterfront restaurant for tapas - tiny octopus and rabbit for me - (there will be no danger of 'sharing' that!)
Home in the dark but what a fantastic day
Such a great photo day it's been almost impossible to choose only one.
