Ground Ivy
..or Glechoma hederacea, is not, of course, related to ivy in any way. Instead it's part of the catmint family and smells rather good. It used to be a feature of herbal medicine and (I'm pretty sure) was the bitter used in making ale before hops took over the role.
Anyway, it's a teeny tiny plant which grows in my - er - biodiverse front lawn. As it's been raining most of the day I decided to dig up a bit and bring it inside to blip, roots, earth and all. I then had the embarrassment of being caught by my next door neighbours, Tidy and Neat, replanting a weed!! *sigh*
Apart from that, I had a drink and sweet potato fries with my sis at The Bridge and an afternoon lolling about in a feckless fashion. Such fun.
Enjoy what's left of your weekend xx
