Inside Out

This tree has intrigued me for ages.
The bark and sapwood has been seriously damaged (possibly lightning?) and has revealed the heartwood most of the way up its trunk.
The only other picture today (in the extras box) was the small patch of snowdrops.

I had to go out this afternoon and buy a protractor (not had to use one since school days!) for my plans for a turning project.
Now I need to make a couple of templates and source some suitable wood - thin but not plywood.

camera club this evening was an audio visual show -- it was good and I think I will have to get to in doing some work in making some new shows.
