A Big Boy at the River

The three of us were on a mission today to go to the Tervis Tumbler store. (The plastic glasses are tumblers that keep cold beverages cold, and warm beverages warm. Plus, they have a lifetime guarantee, and we had two glasses to return.)

On our way to Tervis, we hit the Sarasota National Cemetery, and the Myakka River State Park.

We go to Myakka to see one thing. Alligators. I'm not a math whiz, but for our 6 dollar entry fee, we saw 10 gators, so that would be 60 cents a gator. Pretty good deal, but you would think for our 60 cents...they would at least move around a little. (No such luck.)

Alligators are scary looking animals. Bumpy, leathery, pre-historic. An animal that I never want to meet up close and personal.

19 other pictures are on my Flickr page. The cemetery (complete with a sand-hill crane), the Tervis glasses, shorebirds at dusk, and the setting sun.
