Out of season

There is a special joy that comes from visiting a holiday resort out of season. That is certainly true of Sorrento. This tourist area had to be accessed via a lift from the cliffs above. A steep walk down to the Marina Grande revealed a beach and harbour full of maintenance and preparation activity for the visitors to come. The orange and lemon orchards of the Giardini di Cafaldo were shut, despite signs to the contrary. However, there were plenty of locals in the streets going about their business. And some special vehicles.
