Snow day!

View from my window this morning.
Yippee! It's a snow day! I actually get to stay home! It's official! My school has a partial closure, anyone who can walk there should be there, anyone else should stay at home. I've been told to stay at home! Whoopppeeeee!
I think this is the first one ever!
Yippee! :D

I do actually have some school work home with me so I did a bit of that this morning after going back to bed and sleeping a bit longer. Then had a leisurely breakfast in front of the log burner! :)
Both cats were desperate to get out so I opened the window and the snow blew horizontally in! This seemed to put them off! But Leo still had to balance on the edge for a while to decide.
In the afternoon I collected Toby and met Cathie at the top of the high street. We then walked over to Marianne's where a number of her family were gathering to all go out for a walk.
We walked up Brackenly Lane and bumped into Jem and the kids having fun in the snow drifts. They had been able to tunnel through one and were standing on top of a farmers gate and falling backwards into another! :)
We did similar further along.
We walked right out onto Grassington Road and back towards Skipton.
The snow drifts in the lane where we were walking (beside where Jewelz is buried) were thigh high. It was very entertaining trying to walk through them. Toby was doing a very good job of bounding but it was getting too much for him so I put my camera away and carried him. It was even more entertaining then! At one point I went down on my knees and was completely stuck! I couldn't move my legs to even hope that they'd lift mine and Toby's weight! Not helped by the fact that I was laughing so much!! Matt (Marianne's nephew) came to my rescue and dug the snow away from the front of my knee so I could move.
Once we got back into Skipton we felt that Toby really needed to go home and thaw out. Peter and Ella invited us in for a cup of tea which was lovely. Toby was very good at eating the ice balls off his legs! Then he came and lay on my lap and fell asleep as I kept towelling him dry and massaging his muscles.
After that home for dinner with S and then walking back to the Bunnies.
Ahhhh! I love snow days!
And I get another one tomorrow as I received a call while at the Smiths that Bradford has advised all schools to close tomorrow! :D
