Sister Lucy

We visited briefly with Sister Lucy of Maher Ashram today and donated the electric keyboard Paul acquired at the beginning of the month so he could practice. (With one of the piano's settings he can now play a pretty good raag!) While out there we met one of Sister Lucy's more than 900 charges, Kabir, who was about ready for a nap. She told us how he came to be at Maher, and she shared stories of other lives transformed . . . and not. Some (adults, mostly the mentally ill) refuse the help. The scope of the work seems overwhelming, and yet her good work continues to expand with volunteer and  monetary support from people all over the world.

I felt exhilarated after Prashant's class this a.m., and then brought a bit low later on when it became clear that my neck wasn't happy with something I did during the open practice. I do like to experiment!
