Hairy Evening

Buckingham Camera Club this evening.  One of our members is a bit of an expert in portrait photography (even though his day job is getting planes in and out of a local airport) and had organised a model shoot using studio lighting.  We were given a tutorial and then the lights were set up.  Our model was lovely and very easy to interact with which makes a shoot so much easier.  The disadvantage to the single set-up is only one photographer can shoot at a time so there's lots of hanging around - the advantage is that, while hanging around, you talk to other members.  So I have sorted out a few difficulties with cutting mounts for prints, found out how to get a bus easily to Luton airport and talked through the issues in getting new members, especially women, to get involved.

So, a great evening.  I really hope to work with this model again - wonderful figure, wonderful hair and wonderful personality. I must admit that a lot of my available shooting time was focussed on her hair - she loved the results!  An extra showing a different type of lighting using a blue gel.
